The best television the Den produces is the feeding frenzy. It is the moment the dragons stop competing with each other and start piling into the same deal. When three or more of them want a piece of one company, the founder has usually done something rare. They showed up with a product so obviously good, or numbers so undeniable, that the usual skepticism evaporates and the room flips from interrogation to bidding war.

A multi-dragon deal is a different animal from the standard one-on-one. The founder gains several investors' networks at once, which means more retail relationships, more manufacturing connections, and more doors to knock on. In return they give up a larger combined slice of equity and have to keep more partners happy afterward. The trade is access for ownership, and for the right business it is well worth it.

These deals also cluster around products with mass-market appeal, the kind you can picture on an end-cap at a big-box store, where the dragons' distribution muscle actually changes the trajectory. When you see four dragons fighting over a pitch, it is usually because every one of them can imagine exactly how they would sell it.
